Description
This module exposes the foundations of modern pathophysiology through the central role of mitochondria. Far beyond energy production, they orchestrate redox balance, cellular signaling, apoptosis and immunity. As soon as they are dysregulated, the whole organism loses its functional coherence, paving the way for chronic, metabolic, cardiovascular and cancerous diseases.
The proposed approach places major pathologies at the heart of energy metabolism, oxidative stress and low-grade inflammation. She sheds light on the links between mitochondrial dysfunction, fatigue and metabolic disorders, and then details the mechanisms of obesity, type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.
Cardiovascular dynamics are then analyzed from a mitochondrial angle: myocardial energy production, endothelial function, vascular regulation. Finally, the module explores cancer through metabolic reprogramming, alterations in apoptosis, and the mechanisms that allow tumor cells to escape physiological control.
The whole provides a coherent framework for understanding how disturbances in cellular energy, oxidative stress and intracellular communication contribute to the emergence of chronic diseases, and how this knowledge offers new perspectives for action and therapeutic support.
